 SMS Teachers

Grace Hodges currently teaches two days per week (Friday, Saturday) at SMS. Popular among all ages, she has brought her Classical and Pop experience to Saugeen Music School since 2004. Her Celtic Music Circle (at last count: violin, cello, guitar, accordion, flute, and banjo!) has proven to be as successful as entertaining. Grace has many years of Symphony Orchestra on violin, cello, and voice. Her students have won many awards and scholarships.

Lindon Stone teaches Tues-Thursday in the afternoon and early evenings. He has specialized in Band Classes for several years, and looks forward to seeing a new crop of students tear it up! Lindon joined SMS in 2007 after decades worth of performing Classic Rock, Blues, Old/New Country and R&R music on guitar and bass. He writes and produces music for Trains On Time and Saugeen Rhythm Revival.

April Barker brings her lifetime of music to SMS, whether on the page or off the cuff! She joined us in 2018 to anchor the bass for an adult blues class. We had so much fun that we're planning to bring back the usual suspects for another gut bucket jam hour this fall.  April can sometimes be seen rocking the 'hood on flute with our local Durham Sauntering Band. In addition to flute and electric bass, April plays guitar, sings and otherwise contributes to the Saugeen Rhythm Revival and Trains On Time recordings and shows. She is tentatively booking Wednesdays for music instruction.

All lessons are by appointment, and you may phone or text your teacher directly.
